I descend from Thomas Ellis and Margaret Rees through their daughter Phebe
Ellis who married David Dutton about 1800 some place in or between Green
County, Tenn. and Berkley Frederick Area of Va. W, Va. After Thomas
Ellis's death in Green County, Tenn. his wife and some of the children
returned to the Berkley/Frederick area. Rachel and Phebe were to follow a
bit later , but never turned in their certificates at Hopewell. Some place
along the line the girls married , butI have never been able to find a
reference to where David and Phebe were married. About 1803/1804 they left
Tenna. with Isaac Todhunter and Mordecia Ellis to be among the earliest
settlers of Highland County now Fayette Co. Ohio. Does anyone have any
information on this family.? Or does anyone have information on the
indulged meeting on Lick Creek on Lost Mountain where David and Phebe
settled in Green county bording land of Thomas Ellis. years ago some one
said the records for Lick Creek were at the Fort Wayne Indiana library.
does anyone know if this is a fact. Original records for Lost Creek are at
Guilford Quaker College in North Carolina. Any information regarding the
migration of these families would be welcome.
Marge
