Very good... and you're right, Ancestry Plus is available at the Library
only, not on the home computer. Heritage Quest is available at home,
however.
Thanks for the expansion, and watch out for those squirrels!

According to an ongoing discussion currently on the Random Acts list,
Heritage Quest has recently reconfigured their policies to eliminate
personal or private subscriptions when they expire. Instead, they are
selling subscriptions to libraries who can afford to have them. These
library subscription fees are set by the amount of anticipated usage,
therefore they are variable to libraries which allows small, rural libraries
more likely access. It appears to be quite hit and miss procedure as to
whether a library system would choose access to Heritage Quest but when they
do, it is indeed available by one's card as part of their electronic
catalog. As you mentioned too, advice gleaned from the discussion indicates
that if a nearby library doesn't have access, you should not give up. Many
collateral agreements allow complimentary cards to be issued from nearby
counties or even within some State systems. M!

catalog from their homes. Ancestry Plus is also available in many
electronic catalogs, though some libraries are choosing to limit its access
from home. They make it available only from their in-library computers and
therefore limit their subscription fee exposure.
