John Langdale and his wife, Sarah Hudson, were members of Western Branch MM
for some unknown period of time just prior to 1761 (if memory serves), when
they returned to the city of their birth, Philadelphia. John was the son of
Josiah Langdale and Margaret Burton of Yorkshire, both Quaker ministers.
After Josiah's death in 1723, Margaret remarried to Samuel Preston of
Philadelphia. Sarah was daughter of William Hudson Jr., tanner, of
Philadelphia.

Subject: [Q-R] Quakers of Norfolk Virginia 1600's & 1700's

> I am searching for sources leading to the identity of Quaker groups and
individuals in the Norfolk and Nansemond Counties of Virginia during the
1600 and 1700 time period. My understanding is that some of these
individuals moved south to Bertie and other northeast counties of North
Carolina along the Virginia state border. Any help appreciated.
