Subject: [Q-R] "married contrary to discipline"

So long as a discussion of Quaker Meeting minutes referring to marriage has
developed recently, I have the following question that I hope someone can
elucidate:

Two of my ggreat-grandparents were disowned by the Short Creek MM in
Jefferson Co., Ohio for "marrying contrary to discipline".

Mary Ann EMBREE (formerly Pickering) was so disowned on 20 July 1841
Jesse EMBREE was so disowned on 19 October 1841.

Since they married each other, can anyone offer an explanation for the
3-month interval between Mary Ann's disownment and Jesse's. Or why Mary Ann
was first diswoned?

Thanks for any insights.
