What i do is to reply the message back to the person who sent it (not to the
list) informing him/her that he/she has sent me a virus. I am strictly
informational in tone.
I assume that the person who sent it did so inadvertently because he/she was
victimized. Then I delete the email with the virus attachment and empty my
deleted items folder as well just for added safety. You can open the
message--just don't open the attachment.

What should we do when we receive these messages besides
not opening them? I got 3 from 3 different Rootsweb lists, all
from the same person who is on these lists too. Does the person
know they're sending these messages? I remember this person's
name & can't believe she's up to mischief but is a victim of the problem.
Should I alert her she has the virus? Or just ignore? Or tell the list
master & let them handle the problem? Naturally I didn't open her
attachments.
