Having just read this incident, I remembered very vividly an
experience Great Uncle LESLIE DAWSON WOOD 1979 Clay County,
Iowa Best Wishes, Bruce Wood
Bruce - By chance, are your Wood family originally from FAYETTE CO OH?
On Fayette Co OH's genweb site is a Chancery Court Case 1866 which
mentions WOOD-DAWSON alliance. Four Dawson marriages in Fayette Co OH:
- Sarah Dawson mar. John Williams Aug 26, 1828
- THOMAS B. DAWSON mar. ANN WOOD Mar 12, 1829
- Thomas B. Dawson mar. Eliz. Ann Devalon Aug 14, 1845
- Wm. Dawson mar. Eve Ann Hedrick Jul 21, 1844.
JACOB WOOD d. Nov 1, 1865. Ann Wood Dawson's children are named in
lawsuit...JACOB DAWSON of Davis Co IOWA; LEANDER DAWSON of Washington Co
IOWA, WILLIAM DAWSON of Keokuk Co IOWA; Caroline Rodgers, w/o H.H.
Rodgers of Washington Co IOWA; ABRAHAM DAWSON, dec'd who had children
SARAH & CLARA DAWSON.
Lawsuit reads: DANIEL WOOD vs. James, John, Jacob R. Wood & Martha Wood
and Jacob, Leander & William Dawson, etc.
Can you shed any light on THOMAS B. DAWSON of Fayette Co OH and his
marriage to ANN WOOD?
Thank you,
