Dear Sarah,
Sorry to be delayed in answering your questions, but I had to do some
research and checking to answer the second one.

1. I have very sketchy records for Isaac Vernon, showing only 2 children
with Hannah Townsend. I have a Catherine Vernon who married in 1759 to
John Sidwell and a Mary Vernon who married John Hodgin(s), my 6GG father.

2. Hannah Townsend, as I recieved the information from Daniel Treadway,
was given with only a father John Townsend. Last night I checked the
records of the LDS Family History Center - Ancestral File and found
The entire Townsend family (at least as it was submitted by someone.)
They gave the wife's name as Catherine, which I can believe, since the
granddaughter was also named Catherine, a common practice. But what was
really interesting was that they had the Townsend line going back into the
1400s. It was not the name Townsend, which somehow came in from Montgomery
but along one of the female lines throught a series of generations of the
name Hawxworth. I ran out of time, but I will be going back again this
next week, probably, and will gather copies of all of this, my blood line.
If you want more information about this, I will be glad to supply it. Just
let me know. All that I have in hand is the immediate family, which I have
included below, and have sent on to the list for the use of anyone else
who might be interested:

John Townsend s. of John Townsend and Phoebe
(abt 1680-bef Feb 1747/8) b. Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York
d. West Town, Chester Co, Pennsylvania
married abt 1705 at Long Island, New York
Catherine b. perhaps at Long Island, New York
(abt 1682-bef Feb 1747/8) d. in Pennsylvania
Children
1. Amos Townsend b. Long Island, New York
(abt 1706-13 Jun 1732) d. Chester Co, Pennsylvania
m. 1729 at Goshen, Chester Co, Pennsylvania
to Mary James
2. Phebe Townsend b. Long Island, New York
(abt 1708-12 Oct 1784) m. 27 Sep 1729 to John Taylor
3. Rebecca Townsend b. Long Island, New York
(1710-13 Dec 1792) d. East Marlborough, Chester Co, Pennsylvania
m. 20 Sep 1735 in Pennsylvania to Daniel Mercer
4. Mary Townsend b. Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York
(abt 1713- )
5. Rachel Townsend b. Long Island, New York
(abt 1715- ) m. Bef 1747 in Pennsylvania, to John Cooper
6. John Townsend b. Oyster Bay, Long Island, New York
(abt 1715- ) d. West Town, Chester Co, Pennsylvania
m. 15 Jun 1775 Deborah Jones
7. Hannah Townsend b. Western Twp, Long Island, New York
(9 Jun 1718-31 Aug 1791) d. New Garden, North Carolina
bur. Deep River, North Carolina
m. 3 Dec 1739 at Chichester, Chester Co, PA
to Isaac Vernon
8. Ann (Anne) Townsend b. Oyster Bay, Long Island, Nassau Co, New York
(abt 1718- ) m. 1739 to Dennis Wheeler

The above family has been edited by me to remove some obviously duplcations
of submission and some other clear mistakes. But I would guess that most
of the above data is pretty good. Let me know what you think and also if
you want me to post the line back to the 1400s for Hawxworth, etc.

Best Wishes, Bruce Wood
