I thought I'd pass on my response to a question about the church at Hay
Bay, near Bellville, Ontario. The person who inquired about it didn't
realize there had been two churches at Hay Bay; one Methodist and one
Quaker.

For Karen and others who feel they may or know they have Quaker ancestors
there's a Quaker list. For those interested in general background on the
Quakers in Canada a good book to read is The Quakers In Canada: A History
by Arthur G. Dorland. In it there's a picture of the Hay Bay Meeting House
and the memorial wall, which includes my fourth great grandparents and is
located on land they once owned. Another book in this vain is Former Days
& Quaker Ways also by Arthur G. Dorland. Both books are good for those
having Dorland ancestry. The Archives Of Ontario have the Quaker minutes
for this area.
