Subject: [QC-ETANGLO-L] STURD(I)EVANT/CHARBONNEAU..French Cr, Craw.Co. PA

I have copied the above list for the following reasons:
STUR(D)EVANT (T) AND (i) supposedly originated with William through
Jonathan or Joseph to Justus , any history on last three are a
mystery, from UK, CT, VT, PA, MI and the CHARBONNEAU / SHERBONOW
through Canada, France, VT, PA, MI

GEORGE W. STURDIVANT/STURDEVANT b: 1826-1828 in Weybridge VT. d: 18
Dec 1886 in Bellevue Mi. Married: 14 Nov 1848 in Weybridge VT ,
PHILINDA (PHELENA) NEWELLS CHARBONNEAU STURDEVANT ROBERTS, b: 29
Aug. 1830 in Ferrisburg VT, d: 11 July 1919 in Bellevue MI.
Their daughter LOUISA AMELIA STURDEVANT, b: Sept 1949 in Weybridge
VT, d: 21 Mar 1916
Mar: GEORGE W. WOOLEY of NJ . The Sturdevant's had a total of 5
children, George Theo, Louisa, Silas Rarrison, Addie and Addie V.
the last 3 were all born in Crawford Co.

Taken from a biographical sketch in Bellevue, Michigan. " In 1882
they (Sturdevant's) moved to an 80 acre farm on the banks of FRENCH
CREEK in Crawford Co from Weybridge VT. Mr..STURDEVANT did general
farming and did some "TEAMING" to Erie while his wife managed the
farm and all of the their business, as he was drifting toward
insanity"

The Sturdevant and Charbonneau families were Methodist Episcopal.

I believe that some of the 'STURDEVANT" ( or any other spelling of
this name ) family migrated together to Crawford Co.

My immediate family, listed above, left French Creek in 1858 bound
for Eaton Co., Bellevue, Michigan where they all deceased.

I am looking for anything that could explain the "insanity" that
gggg-gf had. He eventually died from whatever he had, at age 58.
We have a history of Alzheimer's in our family......

Philinda CHARBONNEAU, her fathers name has been spelled
TUSHAN/LEWSON CHERBURN/SHERBONOW from Canada and Weybridge VT,
could be TOUSSAINT CHARBONNEAU ??

Are there any biographies of this family ? Help !!
