Subject: [QC-ETANGLO-L] Sorel (Fort William Henry)

Hi,
I have a Loyalist ancestor who has a "memorial" in Sorel.
1. Does anyone know what English Churches or cemetaries might have
existed then? (aobout 1790)
2. Does anyone know what county this is in?
3. Are there any good books for researching this area?
4. Any good links to this area?
5. Was Fort William Henry in any way related to the same fort near
Lake
Champlain in New York? Or maybe named after the same man? Who
was he?
If it helps, his name is Jesse Brown. He had a daughter Phoebe, and 4
sons who were
also Loyalists. The daughter and sons moved to Ontario and receied
their land
grants in Ontario.
Thankyou and Best Wishes,
Erin
