First, there is no documentation provided on the web page to show any details of any
dispute. The author only states the modern consensus seems to be that the descent
[through Teresa} is real. There is no evidence provided for either side of any
dispute on this web page, so it's purely an opinion.

The accusation that Christians disputed it for purely political reasons is an
attempt to shift the focus away from a lack of evidence on one side of the issue
(Ill leave it to you to discover which one). Anyone actually researching this issue
has only to look at sources based on contemporary and near-contemporary documents
(Spanish and Portuguese records) to discover whether or not Zaida was a descendant
of Mohammed, or whether she was even an ancestress of the Plantagenet kings.
