Hi all,
The Pike Co. historic Preservation Trust recently provided a new sign to help identify the Laurel Hill Cemetery along Old Owego Turn-pike, Milford Pa. the cemetery with about 112 burial is located on the grounds of Grey towers. The forest service accured the cemetery in 1963 when the Pinchot family donated the family estate. They are look for volunteers to assist with landscaping and maintenance of the cemetery.Rehabilitation in the cemetery began several years ago with extensive archeological studies and tree removal. The cemetery is more accessible and Peter Osborne, director of the Minisink Valley Historical Society will lead a program at the cemetery on July 1 and a self guided tour, complete with interpretive brochure and map, also will be available beginning this summer. To volunteer or for more info call Grey Towers 570-296-9630 or email .
thanks Michelle
