I am new to the list and fairly recent to my search into PA.

I have two questions:

1. Was there a place in PA referred to as ~New Erie~?...perhaps some place
that eventually changed names because of the Erie in Erie Co?

2. Was there any other place (other than the known Erie Co town, that
originally was known as Erie in PA and changed it's name?

To that question, I am wondering specifically about Northumberland,
Luzerne, Mercer, and Lawrence counties, but I am interested in wherever one
may have been.
