Subject: Early Philadelphia ships records

I am just beginning my research around Philadelphia; I have two ships
records that could possibly be the family I am interested in; the time
period is 1816 and 1818. Can anyone on this discussion list, offer
suggestions on how to proceed with this information in hand.

Specifically, these two records come off of the National archive ships
records microfilm

Name: Daniel Johnson
Ship name: Ship Factor
Arrival port: Philadelphia
arrival date: 9/21/1816
Master: Thomas Robinson
roll # P83-5046

Name: D. Johnston & Family
Ship name: Brig Julia Ann
Arrival: Philadelphia
arrival date: 6/12/1818
Master: A. Richardson
debarkation: Guernsy, G.B.

Any suggestions are appreciated. I am new to ships records research, having
done US research for about 20 years.
