Article in Philadelphia Inquirer, January 26:

"Hillside Cemetery, the first public burial ground [in
Souderton], may soon be owned by the borough."

"Established in 1894, Hillside Cemetery is Souderton's first
public burial ground. Originally owned by several
shareholders, said a lawyer, it is unclear whether the shares
were formally transferred to their descendants. The cemetery,
still active, had a burial there this week."
