Concord is in Delaware County. I happen to live in Bethel, which is
right next door to Concord Twp.

I believe that Toughkenamon is actually in Chester County. You are
correct that it is west of Kennett Square.

Try this link:

It appears that Brandywine Summit is along the south side of Route
202 between Route 1 and Smithbridge Road. If you zoom in one level
on the map you will also see Painters Crossroads nearby. This is a
shopping center today, but I'm pretty sure it was named after the
Painter family which also had connections to the Minshalls.

The Minshalls are an old Delaware County family. I do not know if
they were Amish. To my knowledge, there was never an Amish community
in Delaware County.

I'm pretty sure there is a Minshall house in Media, Delaware County.
It is kept as a museum and is open to the public on weekends.

Additionally, the Tyler Arboretum was home to the Minshalls and
Painters. See this link for info:
http://www.tylerarboretum.org/history.htm There is a link on that
page to genealogy info for the Minshalls/Painters/Tylers, and even
two old photos of Jacob and Minshall Painter.

If you ever travel down here for further research, the arboretum is
well worth visiting as it is a beautiful spot. Make sure you get a
trail map so you can find Indian Rock!

Good luck!

Regards,

Gloria
