J. W. Conrad, Dean, died at his home yesterday afternoon. He is survived by
his wife and the following children: Mrs. James (Laura) Wharton, Walter,
Raymond, Mrs. Thomas (Susan) Hammill and Leo, of Cresson; O. P. Conrad of
Wilmont; Arthur of Conewaugh, and Mrs. Leo (Ann Stella) Dodson and Clarence
of Pittsburgh. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at
St. Augustine. Interment in the church cemetery.

PM March 4, 1964, at Mercy Hospital, Altoona. Born January 8, 1883, in St.
Augustine, daughter of William and Ellen (McMullen) Conrad. Survived by
second husband, Thomas Hammill, and 12 children - Bernard Brandt, Spangler;
Mrs. Ellen Lilly, Cresson; Joseph Brandt, Pittsburgh; Merrill Hammill,
Detroit, Michigan; Glenn Hammill, Lorain, Ohio; Mrs. Fred Trybus, Wilmore,
PA; Mrs. Donald Grant, Cresson; Donald Hammill and Thomas T. Hammill, both
of Reseda, California; Robert Hammill, Valeria, Ohio; Mrs. Mark Heben,
Fontana, California; and Mrs. Richard Mechley, Granada Hills, California;
also 36 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. Sister of Mrs. Stella
(Conrad) Dodson, Pittsburgh, PA. Member of L. C. B. A., Cresson, Catholic
Daughters and Altar & Rosary Society. Friends received from 7 to 10 PM
Friday and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 PM on Saturday and Sunday at Norman P.
Casher Funeral Home, Cresson. Requiem Mass 10 am Monday at St. Francis
Xavier's Catholic Church, the Rev. Gerald E. Stephens. Interment, church

Well-Known Resident of Dean a Victim of Typhoid Fever
Special to The Tribune
Dean, Feb 27 - Albert Brandt, of this place, died at his home here, after
lingering between life and death for the past thirteen weeks with typhoid
fever. He was about thirty-five years old. He is survived by his wife and
these children: Willie, Bernard, Helen and Joseph; also by his mother, Mrs.
Ellen Brand; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. S. P. Grimes of
Condron; Mrs. Raymond (Mary Jane) Conrad of near this place; Mrs. John
Swires of Dean; Mrs. Walter (Della) Conrad of this place; Frank Brant of
Dean; Mrs. Charles Conrad of Dean; and Charles Brant of this place; and
Thomas at home. The funeral was held at St. Augustine this morning conducted
by the Rev. Father Welsh. Interment was made in the church cemetery.

obit of Margaret Schrall - Hoover - Mrs. Margaret Brandt, 87, Newry,
formerly of Cresson, died January 20, 1991, at Valley View Home, Altoona.
Born December 20, 1903, in Cresson, daughter of late John and Caroline
(Watson) Schrall. Preceded in death by one daughter. Survived by two
daughters, both living in Maryland; five sisters; and two brothers. Private
viewing will be held. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 pm
Tuesday at St. Aloysius' Catholic Church, Cresson, the Rev. John Marshall.
Interment, church cemetery. Arrangements by Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home,
Cresson.

married ALICE DUNMIRE on July 22, 1929; b. October 17, 1908, Gallitzin,
Cambria Co PA; d. August 23, 1967, Cresson, Cambria Co, PA.

Francis Xavier Catholic Cemetery, Cresson Twp, Cambria Co., PA
Married Leo G. Lilly 1906-1979
Helen M. Lilly, 75, 506 Ashcroft Avenue, Cresson, died october 2, 1981, at
Altoona Hospital. Born September 4, 1906, in Dean Township, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Brandt. Preceded in death by parents, husband Leo, who died in
1976; brothers, William and Bernard; and stepbrother, Robert Hammill.
Survived by sons, William of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; and Jack of Cresson;
also 10 grandchildren and a great grandchild. Sister of Joseph Brandt of
Pittsburgh. Also survived by stepbrothers, Merrill Hammill of Michigan;
Glenn Hammill of Ohio; and Donald and Thomas Hammill both of California; and
stepsisters, Valeria Heben and Betty Mae Mechley both of California; and
Rita Grant and Lenora Trybus both of Cresson. Member of Altar and Rosary
Society, St. Francis Xavier's Catholic Church. Friends received from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 pm Monday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where wake
service will be held at 8 pm Monday. Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am
Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier's Catholic Church, the Rev. Carl Spishak.
Interment, church cemetery.

20, 1957) married October 12, 1897 to Della Elizabeth Brandt (October 24,
1876 - March 1, 1928) another sister to John Albert Brandt

Thomas P. Hammill, 84, 405 Powell Avenue, Cresson, died March 23, 1966 at
home. Born September 21, 1881, in Blairsville, son of Frank and Margaret
(McGafferty) Hammill. Preceded in death by wife, former Susan Conrad, March
4, 1964. Survived by these children: Merrill Hammill of Detroit, Michigan;
Glenn Hammill of Lorain, Ohio; Mrs. Fred Trybus (Lenore), Wilmore; Mrs.
Donald Grant (Rita), Cresson; Donald and Thomas T. Hammill, Reseda,
California; Robert Hammill, Valeria, Ohio; Mrs. Mark Heban (Valerie),
Fontana, California; Mrs. Richard Mechley (Elizabeth), Granada Hills,
California; Step-children: Bernard Brandt and Mrs. Ellen Lilly, both of
Cresson, and Joseph Brandt of Pittsburgh. Also brother, John of
Blairsville; and sister, Mrs. Neel Lavery, of Butler. Retired machinist for
Pennsylvania Railroad. Member of St. Francis Xavier's Holy Name Society.

Casher Kennedy Funeral Home at 8:30 pm Sunday Funeral Mass at 10 am Monday
at St. Francis Xavier's Catholic Church, the Rev. Gerald E. Stephens, VF.
