William Mack, Byron Porter, G.M. Pahel and Frank S. Marshall Retired
VETERAN RAILROADERS
The June 1 issue of the "Pennsylvania (***) P.R.R. publication, contains the following pension items of local (*residents*).
Charles W. Pringle, locomotive engineer who had been in the service for the (***) (*40*) years and five months will have *his name* added to the roll of honor too.
Mr. Pringle was born at Wilmore, Pa., (*May 22, 1863*) and entered the service of (**) company February 22, 1880, as a track (***) near his home. For a short period he was employed as a freight brakeman and on December 7, 1882, he was (*promoted*) to locomotive fireman, and on December 12, 1887, he was promoted to engineman, which position he held (***) retired.
Mr. Pringle's father was a freight condutor, who reared five sons. All of them (***) various times in the engine service of the company, and at the present (*time*) only one remains, namely, E. E. Pringle, running out of Conemaugh. (*One*) brother H. B. Pringle, died in 1910. W. N. Pringle is a doctor in Johnstown and A. A. Pringle is a doctor in Eureks.
Wilmore is one of the mountain towns (***) supplied the Pennsylvania Railroad (***) many of its service men years (*ago). There are still quite a number of (*men*) in the service who came from the (*villiage) and farms in that immediate (*vicinity*).
Mr. Pringle makes his home with his daughter, Mrs. J. C. Group, 820 South (***) Wilkinsburg, his wife having (***) (***) nine years ago.
(***) (***) of friends and co-workers (***) (***) health and happiness for many years to come.
This article is on the edge that was not layed flat. It is very hard to read with the black shadow. I have tryed my best. What I am not sure of is put in (***). There is a big right up with each of the men listed. It did not fit on the 11 by 17 page. So I only have part of Mr. Pahel's and none of Mr. Marshall's.
If any one else has this article and could fill in the words I could not figure out, please email me.
