North Cambria News, Hastings, Pa, 1917 [exact date cut off]

Warning!
All persons are hereby warned not to use milk bottles of the Highland
Dairy for any purposes whatever, or they will be prosecuted to the fullest extent
of the law.
Signed: HIGHLAND DAIRY, R. F. Thomas, Prop.

Does anyone know anything about this Dairy? I have never heard if it, but it
must have been located in or near Hastings or St. Boniface.

The local library has been looking for bottles from the following dairies for
their collection of local artifacts in the History Room. [I would like them,
too, and would like leads so I can purchase and donate.]

Kline's Homestead Dairy, located on the present Miller Street, used to be Rt.
36, north of Hastings in Elder Township [This is my family] Run by Louis
(grandfather) Victor (father), Regis, Auerlius "Hun," Alfred "Doc," Richard
"Dick," and William "Bill"(sons). Each son was in turn known by the high school
nickname of "Bottles," as they delivered the milk before school each day. I
believe this was the last local dairy to deliver bottled milk in the area. It
supplied milk to the Topshop Supermarket and the cafeteria at the Hastings
Memorial building, Hastings-Elder High School, then Cambria Heights Middle School.

Sodmont's Dairy, located on No 9 Road, south of Hastings in Susquehanna
Township, run by Louis Sodmont.

Cherry Lane Dairy, located near Westover, in Clearfield County, and run by
the McKee family. Although in Clearfield County, it was very near the border of
Cambria County, and the McKee family were friends of my father, Regis Kline.

Does anyone know of any other dairies in the area through your family
connections? I would like to make a list to post. I include Spangler, Barnesboro,
Patton, and Carrolltown, also. I know there were others.
