MRS. C. C. [Charles?] ANNA CALLED BY DEATH
Mrs. Margaret (Yeager) Anna, wife of C. C. Anna, and one of the best
known and dearly beloved residents of ST. Boniface, died at her home near that
place Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, death being due to kidney trouble. She was
64 years of age.
Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Yeager, and was born in
Elder Township and lived there all her life. Her genial and loving disposition
endeared her to all who came in contact with her and she is mourned by a host
of friends. Her health had been impaired the past two years, and she became
bedfast two weeks before her demise.
Besides her husband, eight children survive, as follows:
Mrs. James Lynne, of St. Boniface;
Mrs. Patrick McDermott, of Hastings; [County Coroner for many years]
Anthony, of Akron, Ohio;
Patrick, of Washington, DC;
Henry, at home;
Wilfred, of St. Boniface;
Oscar, at home;
Mrs. Harry Yeager, of St. Boniface.
A brother;
P. P. [eter], of Hastings,
and the following half-brothers also survive:
Joseph Yeager, and
? Anthony?, place of residence unknown,
Lewis Yeager, St. Boniface, and
Jacob Yeager, of Juniata [Altoona].
The funeral was held Monday morning at 9 o'clock with a requiem high mass
in the St. Boniface Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
First, obituaries were seldom this flowery. Mrs. Gertrude (Kline) Houck,
wife of the editor, who probably wrote it, was from St. Boniface. She must have
known and liked Mrs. Anna.
I think C. C. was Charles Anna. Does anyone know his parents? Possibly
Charles Anna and Justina Long Anna? However, the practice of naming nephews for
uncles often means that the person of the same name is not the father.
Margaret was the daughter of Conrad Yeager? Which one, as there were two,
uncle and nephew?
Evidently this Conrad was married twice; who were his wives, and which wife
was Margaret's mother?
I think her brother, P.P., was Peter Paul. Am I correct? Were there other
brothers? Half-brothers?
Who were her deceased children?
What were the names of her daughter's? Her son's wives? Did the two sons at
home marry?
