Date: Mon, 1 Mar 2004 21:35:43 EST
I missed this earlier. Written on the back of the photo.
David Topper - Born 1790, from England
Andrew - Born 1802
Henry - Born 1826 [Eliza Alice Emigh] [Both had brothers named Jacob.]
George Washington - Born December 11, 1851 [Lavinia Miller] [17th Ward,
Johnstown]
John H.[enry] - -Born April 23, 1855 [Clara Rachel Lovett] [Chester
County]
James A.[lbert] - Born June 15, 1857 [Annie Elizabeth Bunton] [South
Fork]
Francis Frederick (Frank) - Born November 3, 1863 [Elizabeth M. Costlow]
[Old Homestead]
Edward Thomas - Born May 3, 1869 [Anna Rachael Maus] [Lovette]
Presumably, the last five are the children of Henry Topper and Eliza Alice
Emigh Topper, of Adams Township, near Wilmore.
They evidently only traced descent from the sons, as the five daughter on
the picture are not mentioned on the back:
Ellen,
Matilda Topper Costlow, wife of Peter Costlow; [Tillie]
Elizabeth Ann Topper (died at 3);
Malinda "Lena" Topper Hoyer, m Henry Casper Hoyer; [Herman in mother's obit,
Altoona]Mary Elinora "Ella" Topper, m Bernard F. Hammerle; [Johnstown]
Margaret Mae Topper Costlow, m Charles B. Costlow; [Maggie] [Lovette]and
Elizabeth Agnes Rhoads, m Rhinard H. Rhoads. [Lovette]
The ones on the picture, presumably the ones alive about 1911, are Malinda,
Agnes, Ellen, Matilda, and Margaret
