Ed,
I think Byrnesville may have been one of the many short lived coal
settlements that sprang up around Barnesboro in the early 1900's. I looked
through the several maps I have, but did not find Bynesville. I have two
similar situations; Andy Long Town was mentioned in a newspaper obit,
on a deed I have the village of McClainville is mentioned. I know that Andy
Long was a person owning land near or in Barnesboro.
When the coal mining went into full swing many workers came to the area
and needed housing. So I see surrounding land owners putting the
lumber they just finished harvesting of their land back in the form of
houses. Just
as you mentioned, Barnesboro and Spangler were swallowed up to form
Northern Cambria. I think most small settlements lost their identity as
neighboring towns grew.
Walnut Run is a creek that runs from Allport to Barnesboro. A road
follows
the creek and has several small settlements off of that road. There is also
a good
size coal operation north of the road/creek in that area.

Byrnesville is near North Barnesboro, Cambria Co., PA (not the one by
Centralia). I have never seen it on a map but it is between North Barnesboro
(now Northern Cambria) and Allport.
