Hi Phil!
My oldest proven Braddock Ancestor is John Braddock b abt 1788 m. Elizabeth
Storm b 1800, daughter of John Storm and Susan Wysong and the widow of
Eugene Patrick Malone. For years I have thought that Nicholas Braddock and
Eleanor Hines were his parents and they may well be, but doubts have crept
into my mind and I am exploring the possibility that John's parents may have
been one of the other Braddocks found in the Maryland and Pennsylvania
Census and other records of the late 1700's and early 1800's. I have not
been able to find will and probate abstracts for the counties involved or
published land/deed records in the catalogues I have and hoped someone would
have a lead to help me find them.
I live in Kentucky and am unable to visit the court houses that may hold
those records.
Some promising leads that I would like to have the records to eliminate are:
Raphael Braddock 1730 England-1803 Washington County, PA (DAR records and
Census Records)
John Braddock who m. Anna Green 1775 Philadelphia, PA and may be found in
Washington County 1790 and 1800 Census
John Braddock b 1744-d1818 PA wife Sarah (DAR Record) May be 1790-1800-1810
Census Canton Twp. Washington County, PA
I think there is the possibility that John s/o Nicholas is the husband of
Ann/Agnes and the father of Simon Peter Braddock and his sisters found in
the Records of St. Michael's, Loretto, but John the husband of Elizabeth
Storm may NOT be the son of Nicholas and Eleanor Hines, but the son of one
of the other Braddocks. My best bet now/today is he may be the son of John
b 1744 and d 1818 but I need records other than census records to prove or
disprove.
Thanks Judith Burger
