My great grandmother was born Feb. 28, 1857 in Beaver
Valley, PA which I have been given to understand is in
Cambria County. Her obit says that her father died
shortly after she was born. If anyone can give me
information on the availability of records for the
area at that time I would appreciate it. A check of
the 1850 census might find John and Mary Lyons. I
used ancestry.com yesterday and could only come up
with a Beaver Valley in McKean County which had about
ten townships but the Lyons I was looking for didn't
seem to exist there. I am afraid that I won't John and
Mary Lyons on the census because it appears they fall
between the ten year period. Is there a historical
society I can contact or is someone willing to do some
checking for me? TIA Diane
