Been searching immigrantship.com for g-grandfather Earnest Youngkins.
Have his petition to become a citizen from the Cambria Co.Courthouse,
which said he arrived in U.S. May 1863, He was from Saxony, and intended place of
settlement was Gallitzin.
His petition was filed Sept. 1878 and granted Sept. 1800.
Was there a waiting period before they could file to become a citizen?
When would he have left Germany to arrive in U. S in May? Is there any other
place I can search to find what ship he arrived on?
