Thanksgiving in Coopersdale.
The Rev. CARTWRIGHT and wife entertained some of the young folks Thanksgiving
Day, among whom was Prof. CHRISTY, at a 10-o'clock breakfast. Mrs. Richard
Cartwright, the mother of the pastor, is visiting her son and his family. Her
years hang lightly on her. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. HARRIS also entertained some of
their friends for supper. Their daughter Jennie, who is attending Pittsburgh
Female College, is at home for a few days.
The choir of the M. E. Church gave an entertainment in the Academy Hall in
the evening, consisting of music and recitations, at which every seat in the
hall was occupied and all seemed well pleased and went away satisfied that they
had the worth of their money.
