Hi,

I have been researching the Irish origins of many Cambria County families
for several years as I search for my Conway, Murphy & McIntire ancestors.

The naturalization records for Cambria County, which I read on LDS
microfilm, contain several Kennedys.

There is a Peter Kennedy who petitions in 1836 and only listed as from
"Ireland."

John Kennedy and Bernard McCloskey were witnesses for the naturilization of
James Reynolds of County Cavan, Ireland in 1840 in Cambria County.

James Kennedy and Bernard McCloskey were witnesses for the naturilization of
John Sweeney in 1840.

Charles Kennedy and Bernard McCloskey were witnesses for the naturlization
of John McClavin of County Derry in 1840.

Charles Kennedy and Peter Collins were witnesses for the naturlization of
James Conway [one of my ancestors] in 1840.

Charles Kennedy and Laurence Cassidy were witnesses for the naturlization of
Lewis Cassidy in 1840.

Since all these naturilizations took place on October 5th, 1840, the three
Kennedy men were together at the court house. This may suggest that they
were related.

I have only transcribed the records to this date, so there may be other
references to your Kennedys in later years.

Good luck,

Thor Conway
