Dear Listers - this talk of funeral home info prompts
me to ask if anyone knows which funeral home(s) would
have most likely handled the burials for Gallitzin
residents in the late 1800s?
I know my gggrandparents, Charles and Susan Murry
(Murray?) Higgins O'Hagan, lived on Portage St. in
Gallitzin from 1856 until Susan's death in June 1886.
Charles then lived with his son in Frugality and his
daughter in Johnstown until his death in Sept. 1892.
Family notes say both are buried in St. Patrick's RC
Cemetery in Gallitzin, although church records and the
gravestone show only Charles and one of their
daughters being buried there.
Have hit the brick wall with these 2 as far as any
info on parents, sibs, childhood homes in Ireland,
etc. Am thinking I might find something in funeral
home records, if there were any kept that far back.
Any suggestions?? Thanks much,
Kelly
