Attenton any Reitz/Malzi researchers -- I have ancestors for Sophia Reitz married to Peter Malzi - these go back (with curch records) to early 1600s.
Am finding many local surnames in this book. Just off the top of my head, names are:
Sack - Schneider - Reitz - Juncker/Junker (anglicized to Younger/Yonker) - Raab/Rabe
Volp - Mogk/Moog - Steeg/Stegk - Philippi - Dietz - Acker - Schmidt - Schmitt -
Weber - Weil - Wolf - Momberger - Kraft - Koch - Kammer - Jacob/Jakob - Henckel - Doeringer/Thueringer - Bornmann Belzer/Beltzer and More.
These names are from Trais-Horloff, Utphe and INheiden - all in Hesse or Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany. Please inquire if you are researching any of the above names.
You will find more ancestors than you ever dreamed possible!
THe book is still available, and very reasonable; I will be happy to give contact information. The book is well done; based on church records, gives occupations, church activities, cause of death in many cases, some family history, marriage dates, and birth/death dates, and so much more. There is a glossary in the back to explain old-time German terms. The book is in German; but I have prepared a "translation guide" I will be glad to send anyonoe who wants it.
