Subject: [PaCambri] johnstown newspapers

Hello to the listees!
Could someone tell me which newspaper(s) where being
published in 1919 for Johnstown? Also would anyone
know how I could check old police records for that
same time period? I have found where my grandfather
died. Now I would like to know how it happened that he
ended up where he did. I have contacted the hospital
where he was taken and told that although the death
cert was issued from that hospital, the hospital no
longer exists.
I contacted the hospital where the records are stored
only to be told his name is not on the index. I have
the same answer from the "Almhouse records". I now
would like to check out the area newspapers for any
incident that could have involved him. The police
would have been a station in the area of 114 Bradley.
How could he not be on any records and still have a
death cert from that place? His death cert has his
correct name, address, city and state, but the lines
for family info are all filled with ? or marked
"unknown". Yet his wife and children lived at that
address. I am truly puzzled and beginning to think
that his records may have been intentionally
misplaced, for whatever reseaon.
Thanks for you input!
Diane
