Even though a person can rent the microfilm at the FHC, the film must remain
on the premises, so the person who said she has a microfilm reader at home
would probably not be able to view the film on her own reader. At least that
is the rule at the FHC where I volunteer. This is due to restrictions the
church agrees to in order to film the material.
There are many places that sell microfilms of genealogical interest. The
Genealogical Helper magazine, for one, runs ads for companies that do all the
time. Sorry, I don't have a copy here or I would give some names.
