to all listers, on april 16 i mailed 2 different applications for birth
records for 2 of my fathers relatives. i was looking forward to receiving
the birth records back soon in hopes to find information that i did not know.
i was able to include all the information neccessary for the search to be
done.

what i received back today was my original application along with my
check for both persons. there was also included a NOTICE saying that if
subject is deceased, submit a copy of the death record.

the birth record is what i was requesting.

i called the Vital Records office and talked to one person and she told
me that a certified copy of a birth record and certified death record are the
same as a birth record and death record. i am waiting for another person to
call me back yet today for further information.

do I have to submit a copy of a death record just to receive a birth
record for the same person? i am sure that a lot of you have had experience
obtaining birth records, did you have to send for the death record first and
then send a copy of it with the birth record application?

any help will be appreciated
