Hi All,
Surely do appreciate Annie for posting all this info, and the Co-List
Ladies for approving it :)
The item below points up two incidents I ran into a while back. Was
researching GAGE, and found half-a-dozen Gage children, each with different
families, and in different counties. Later discovered that their mother had
died, and the father moved into a boarding house. Same thing with a HOOVER
family. The mother died in a log-cabin fire, and I guess the father couldn't
deal with raising 4 young children, so they were 'farmed out' to different
families.
So, these poor little orphaned Gillian children are a very pertinent
reminder to be sure and look around at neighbors, relatives, and even
neighboring areas, when a trail seems to have hit a 'dead-end'

<< GILLIAN, Michael, of Summerhill Twp, was crushed between two cars of the
Portage Railroad and instantly killed on Monday last. He was sitting on the
front part of a train of cars with several others. Left 4 small children,
their mother having died only a few weeks since (Thursday, 19 June 1834)
