Joe,

Maybe you mean Kachmar? not Katchmer? There is a family in Barnesboro listed
in the 1920 census, Father is Mike age 40, mother is Mary age 39, 1st step
son is Mike age 18, 2nd step son is John age 16 (my grandfather). Oldest
son is Joseph, I believe he went by middle name James age 13, next oldest is
John age 11, next oldest is Helen age 7, next is Stephen age 5, next is a
daughter, and next is George age 1 & 4/12. Another one born after 1920 is
Paul Peter Kachmar born 5 JAN 1923 (from SS-5 record). This census record
shows the name to be Kacmar but could be a mistake or that the family
Anglicized name later. Mike, John, and father are listed as coal miners. If
this is your family, all the male sons are dead, sorry to say. I do know of
one other male Kachmar that is still alive but was not born in Barnesboro is
is one more generation younger than this family.
