Here's the entry from CATHOLIC VITAL RECORDS, vol.111, p340:
7496 WEAKLAND, Franciscam Elmyram (Simone/Susanna McDermott) b. 01-17
bp. 02-17-1850 [godparents]:Joanne Wharton/Martha McDermott
Making allowances for Latinized spellings, I'm pretty sure this is your
Elmira.
Now, about Bertha. I have to eat some words here since I said I had
absolutely no record of such a person. I got out the trusty Platt
familytree prepared by Charles Vignos and discovered he does have a
Bertha drawn in, apparently as Elisabeth Luther Weakland's child, with
the married name of DALMASSE - but I've seen no other mention of her
anywhere. I do not have access to the booklet that originally
accompanied the familytree, but I know one is available at the Cambria
Co. Historical Society. The odd little limb on which Bertha appears is
hard to translate, in terms of relationships. I'll supply some of the
names, in hopes that some one
can help me figure it all out: Desailes GATES, with Merlyn,
Robert,Lionel, and Mary CONNERS; Ethel BLOSIER, with Mary MALCOLM and
Rita; Lucinda BUCK, with Marie, John, Charles,Frank and Aloysius.
