I recently sent for a copy of the Social Security record for an uncle that I
am trying to trace. Well, I finally received a response and was quite
surprised at what I found. I requested information on a Mike Mechrina. I
obtained the social security number on the web. Well, the application that I
received was for a Steve Berik....with the same social security number. I
just looked on every social security death index on the web, and confirmed
that I hadn't copied the number down. Now, what do I do? Has anyone else
ever encountered this problem?

The stranger thing is that the BERIK application lists his mother as Anna
Yurachko. On my grandmother's death certificate (she would have been Mike
Mechrina's sister), her mother is listed as Anna Eurako. Which seems like
we could be talking about the same woman. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Any help would be appreciated.
