Subject: [PACAMBRI] RE: Who Were They

Those who have answered before me have said it so much better that I ever
could. A little over a year ago I started looking for names and dates. Then
I came across this article:
THE TRIBUNE - FRIDAY - July 17, 1868
During the heated term of the past week a number of persons have been
seriously affected by the heat. Workmen in various callings have been
compelled to quit work. On Tuesday a German named Leonard Erlinger, employed
in the stone quarry on Prospect Hill, complained of sickness about three
o'clock and started to go to his home in Conemaugh Borough. He staggered as
he left his companions. The next that was heard of him he had sunk down on
the side walk on Canal street, near the residence of R. Duroch, who kindly
had him taken in to his house and summoned physicians. Erlinger when
discovered was only able to articulate the name of his wife, which he did
repeatedly---"Lizzie! Lizzie!" He died about six o'clock, solely from the
effects of the heat. His wife was sent for before he died, but she was so
overcome by the shock that she was at once taken seriously ill herself. The
deceased had been in this country just six weeks, and had brought with him
his wife and boy--the latter ten years old.
And I found "people", my gggrandfather, my gggrandmother and my ggrandfather.
As someone said before, when I get to heaven, I am going to have a lot of
questions!
