Subject: [PACAMBRI] Getting Acquainted
Date: Sat, 5 Feb 2000 08:22:12 -0800 (PST)

I'm glad someone brought up the subject of becomming "personally
acquainted" with our ancestors while researching. I'm only 7 months
into serious genealogy, but already feel it.

To my daughter, I said, " When I get to Heaven and run in to some of
these folks, I'm going to feel like I already know them. I'm also going
to have more than a few questions"!

Discoverng an obituary is touching, as it generally reveals a feeling
about the person's character. Two weeks ago I read my grandmother's for
the first time. She died at age 32, leaving 4 young boys. It said,
"Several hours before she died, though very weak, she tried to join in
singing the hymn, 'My Jesus, I Love Thee, I Know Thou Art MIne'". I
could picture it, almost as if I were there.

I feel a strange familiarity to them after reading, saying, and typing
their names in my quest to know more. Thank you for letting me share.

Catherine
