Subject: [PACAMBRI] List of Cambria/Blair immigrants from Wallersdorf-area, Bavaria, Germany
Date: Thu, 9 Sep 1999 09:17:49 -0600

In working on my Forster/Foster family genealogy, I noticed that many of the
names I was finding in my Wallersdorf, Bavaria, Germany research were the
same names I was finding in my Cambria County and Blair County catholic
research. So, although in its infancy, I began to list the names of those
Wallersdorf-area people who emigrated to Blair County, Pennsylvania and
Cambria County, Pennsylvania sometime in the 19th century. This list does
not include all Bavarian-born parishioners, but only those from Wallersdorf
or its nearby villages that I have found in my research.

As a note, sometimes emigrants listed a "larger" neighboring village's name
as their "homeland" instead of the actual name of their village, as many of
their villages were very tiny. It is a lot easier to find Straubing, a city
on the map, rather than Rossbach, a tiny village on the map.

I hope this list will give other genealogists clues as to their ancestors
village of origin. We might learn that our ancestors were neighbors on both
sides of the ocean. Also, this list is not complete, in that, I am still
finding more names common to both places. If I wasn't so busy with my
Forster genealogy work, I would love to research our "family" of names
below.
