Subject: [PACAMBRI] Orphans of the 1889 flood ?
Date: Thu, 2 Sep 1999 20:45:49 -0400

It has long been told in my family that my G.G. Grandparents, Patrick and Rose Rodgers of Millville Bo. (Johnstown), where victims of the 1889 flood. I checked the list of victims and there are a Patrick Rodgers and a Rose Rodgers listed, but their ages do not agree with what they should have been based on the 1880 census. The victims list had Patrick as 52yrs., and the census indicated he would have been 59yrs. The list had Rose as 48yrs. vs. 46yrs. by the census. I could find no other records for them after 1889.

They had 6 children ages 18 through 7. The only one that I could locate was my G.Grandfather in 1910, living in Pittsburgh with wife and their children.

If this was my G.G.Grandparents that died in the flood, what would have happened to their orphaned children ? Are there any records available for orphans of the flood ?

Don
