Looking for links to my paternal great-grandmother, Margaret "Maggie"
Sheaghen, born in Johnstown, PA Dec 4, 1865. "Sheaghen" is how her
maiden name is spelled on her marriage license application. Her
obituary lists her maiden name as "Sheehan". Going through the
Johnstown directories I've seen many spelling variations of this name
(see Subject line above). Margaret's obituary lists her parents as
Silas and Sally (Gray) Sheehan. In the 1900 Federal Census, Margaret
states that her parents were both born in PA.

I spent three hours on the third floor of the Johnstown library on
Monday morning and cannot say enough nice things about the librarians.
They were so helpful and encouraging.
