Subject: SMITH Brothers... Johnstown, PA or Armstrong County, PA
Date: Tue, 9 Jun 1998 22:58:12 EDT

Trying to find information on my SMITH line, which I understand to have been
German, and emigrated to the US circa 1855, no later than 1860. There were
five Smith brothers who all travelled together and settled in the Johnstown,
PA area. From what I gather from my grandmother, the boys were sent to the US
by their parents to make a life here, while the parents stayed behind in
Germany. The five brothers never had any contact with their parents again. I
have photographs of Louis, Charles, John, and Frederick, but I do not have
much else. ANY HELP on this family would be greatly appreciated!!! Outline
of the family at the bottom of my message.
