Hello all,
Went to find Anna Neff after seeing a message saying she was the wife of
Richard Plummer (this may or may not be true). Well turns out..the person may
have gotten the information from Ancestry.com. (OK JUST RECEIVED EMAIL FROM
HER AS I WAS WRITING THIS...IT MIGHT BE TRUE!!! She didnt get the info from
Ancestry. YAY!) I had sent them an updated gedcom 2 times after receiving
false information from a Plummer researcher. The gedcoms I sent them listed
Anna Neff as Richards wife. This marriage info was taken from the information
that researcher had sent me but as I checked up on some of the sources he
listed I found many ficticious facts and therefore threw out everything that I
had thought I learned from his papers....including Anna Neff. She could still
be his wife, but until I find some sort of real source...some kind of REAL
record with her name on it..and not just heresay of a well-meaning but harshly
mistaken researcher...I can't put her in my files. Richard is my direct
ancestor and so I would not want to put my 5th greatgrandmother as someone I'm
not even related to.

But the point of this email is...be careful with Ancestry.com. It contains
outdated material such as mine, that has been either proven wrong or not
proven at all. I have written to them on 3 different occasions now asking them
to please remove the 2 outdated gedcoms that I sent but they still remain on
there as seperate files. Example: Searched for Anna Neff:
Anna Neff marriage Parents submitter info(listing me) file
h7883a
Anna Neff marriage Parents submitter info(listing me) file
h7883b
Now I see how they can boast about having over 7 million people in their file
database....half are probably duplicates from people trying to update
information they have found.
Kathy
