<<<I have ancestral info on the Howell side, I am a Howell descendant, have
the marriage of Sarah Howell & james Elder, and these two children Helen &
George.

What info do you have? I'll share all I have.

Brian Cartwright>>>

I'm relatively new to the list, but Brian's posting and the one he responded
to caught my eye because it mentioned Howells in Cresson. I grew up in
Cambria and Somerset counties, and all my ancestors are from that area. I
have very little information on my grandmother's family, but her parents were
supposedly from Gallitzen. Her father's name was Cel McCoy (supposedly Cel is
short for Celestial), and her mother's maiden name is believed to have been
Howell, first name Elsie. I'm afraid I don't even have her birthdate, other
than it was probably late 1800s since my grandmother was born in 1915. My
grandmother's name was Vivian McCoy and she had a sister named Mary Gertrude
McCoy. My great grandfather, Cel McCoy, is rumored to have owned a Harley
Davidson motorcycle shop in or around Gallitzen in the early - mid 1900s.

Brian, do you happen to have any information in your Howell line on my Elsie
Howell? Anyone else ever hear of this family? Thanks in advance.
