Hi Dorothy,
You saw that reference to free on-line lookup for the Pa. Archives ?
Someone posted it to Pa. Quakers yesterday.
I used this to look up a few things for myself but also looked for you Peter Wise. I found one guy living in Adamstown, in northern Lancaster County. he was listed as being between 18 and 52 and in Capt. Lutz's company in 1782. Since you have access you might want to do a more detailed search.
The Adamstown list amounts to a kind of census of those who lived in the Adamstown district (its part of Cocalico Twp. on the Berks/Lancaster County border) who were between 18 and 53. Someone who was a Quaker would have been listed since he would have had time to pay a fine if he didn't want to serve in the army.
Good luck.
Jim

Jim,
Thanks for your time and help. I'm working on it now.
Thanks, too, for the link.
