In regards to Alphonsus Kirk- I have a Quaker ancestor, Mary Pryor, who
married an Alphonsus Kirk on 6 Nov 1762 in Pikeland, Chester Co., PA. Mary
was the daughter of my direct ancestor, James Pryor and his wife, Elizabeth
Phillips. All were Quakers living in the New Garden and Kennett areas in the
early 1700s.

I was in SLC and found a notation for Alphonsus Kirk, son of Rodger and
Elizabeth Kirk in the Irish Quaker Arrivals to Philadelphia 1682-1750 by
Albert Cook Myers. (only wish I might have found my Pryors in the book!)

How is the Alphonsus who married Mary Pryor related to Alphonsus, son of
Rodger? Is he perhaps a grandson? Also, does the Historic Genealogy of the
Kirk family mention the Pryor family?

Thank you,

Laura Rinderknecht
