Thanks so much for all of the suggestions. I really appreciate it. Like I
said in my first post, I think that the Quaker connection is going to come
through my
great-grandmother's maternal line, as they are the ones that have the ties
to PA. The men in this family all have strong ties to Cecil County,
Maryland as far back as I can tell. Here's what I know.
Annie Collins (Marcus) Thompson, daughter of Hyland Lum Marcus (1818-1904)
and Jessie Ellen "Ella" (Ward) Marcus, was born 11/29/1891 in Maryland,
probably Cecil County. She married Joseph Leon Thompson, Sr. She died
September 23, 1964 in Wilmington, New Castle County, Delaware.
Jessie Ellen "Ella" (Ward) Marcus, daughter of Levi Ward (1820-ca1866) and
Mary H. (Littoway/Logan?) Ward, was born October 2, 1848/49 in Pennsylvania,
probably Chester County. She married Hyland Lum Marcus. She died August
30, 1916 in Cecil County, Maryland.
Mary H. (Littoway/Logan?) Ward - father and mother's names are unknown -
was born November 10, 1826 in Chester County, PA. She married Levi Ward.
In
1850 Levi and Mary are living in Kennett Township, Chester County,
Pennsylvania with daughter Jessie Ellen. Mary died on May 11, 1903 in
Baltimore, Maryland.
I'm not sure of Mary' maiden name. One daughter's death certificate says
Logan and another says Littoway.
Thanks Again!!!
Melissa
