Hello,

I found this bit of information and thought it may be of interest:

Gwynedd Meeting was founded by Friends who came from Wales in 1698,
holding their first meetings in the homes of settlers. Their first
house of worship was built of logs near the site of the present meeting
house in 1700. A second meeting house of stone was completed in 1712
which was torn down and replaced by the present one in 1823. An
addition to this meeting house was made in 1948. For a number of years
the meeting was held under the care of Haverford Monthly Meeting. The
names of Lincoln, Boone, and Hanks, ancestors of Abraham Lincoln and
Daniel Boone, appear on the early records as members of the Meeting,
although not residents of the Township. During the Revolution the
meeting house was used as a hospital and some of the soldiers were
interred in the Meeting grounds.
For many years a school or kindergarten has been conducted by the
Meeting.
