Hugh HALES
Born 18 JAN or 18 DEC 1800 at Wheeling, West Virginia and of Jefferson, Henry, Iowa in 1850 the son of William HALES and Elizabeth (BAKER?). Married 14 JUN 1826 Elizabeth MATTHEWS in Gallia County, Ohio.
She was born 13 JAN 1803 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia and of Jefferson, Henry, Iowa in 1850 and 1860 the daughter of Townsend Perry MATTHEWS and Nancy WILLIAMS. Hugh HALES died 19 APR 1852 at Marshall, Henry, Iowa and was buried there. His wife died 12 MAR 1872 at Chillicothe, Missouri and was buried there.

M- William Henry Harrison HALES; born 16 MAR 1830 at Gallia, Gallia, Ohio and of Jefferson, Henry, Iowa in 1850; died 1887.
F- Margaret Isabella HALES; born 24 MAY 1832 at Gallia, Gallia, Ohio and of Jefferson, Henry, Iowa in 1850; married (1) about 1852 Sylvanus WARREN, (2) Thomas HAWLEY; died 19 NOV 1916.
F- Caroline HALES; born 11 MAR 1832 in Gallia County, Ohio.
M- Townsend Perry Francis Monroe HALES; born 7 MAY 1834 at Gallia, Gallia, Ohio; married (1) 13 JUL 1857 Mary Ann FRIEND, (2) 27 JAN 1874 Olive GRANTHAM, (3) 4 JUL 1876 Hellen Adelia HUNT; died 19 NOV 1916.

I believe my great great grandfather was William Henry Harrison Hales b. 1830 above married Lucinda Turner Porter, their son Charles A. Hales m. Lucinda Galloway, Butter Creek, Lexington Oregon to Waitsburg, WA my great grandparents.
