HANNAH SNEATHEN b.18 Dec.1797 KY - d. 18 Nov. 1886 SALEM, OREGON The

Lewis family eventually Settled near Junction City, Oregon - East of Salem,

Oregon. Their first Kentucky original home was a one bed room cabin on

property of his father James Lewis II and Sarah Couch Lewis in present day

Breathitt County. In those years the land was first Clay Co until 1820, then

Perry County until 1839 when it became present day Breathitt County,
Kentucky.

A County of many criminals and rebels who randomly killed. Children of

Wm.Martin Lewis & Hannah Sneathen were all born in Kentucky. The following *

Children are recorded :

*1. John Lewis b. 30 April, 1816 KY md. Polly _____? b.19 June 1835,

born of parents in Boone Co., Indiana

*2. Ezekiel Lewis b. 2 July 1818 KY md.

*3. Mary Lewis b. 3 Oct. 1820 KY md. 21 July 1836, to Isaac Leabo,

b.1815, Monroe Co, Indiana

Mary died with 12 children descents, at age 81, on 10 Sept.1901, at Toledo,

Oregon.

Mary & Isaac were married by Rev.B.Beamer, in Boone Co.,Indiana. She went to

Platte Co, MO and left first for Oregon.

Mary & Isaac arrived Oregon in October 1846 and settled a land claim on 15

Dec. 1846 in Oregon, in Williamette Valley.

Mary made the trip (4)years ahead of her parents Wm.Martin Lewis & Hannah.

Her known children recorded are :

a.) William P.E. Leabo b. 25 Aug 1837 MO- -died 23 Aug.1838 MO age 1 in

Platt Co.,MO ( now Kansas City

b.) Noah John Leabo b.25 Dec.1838 MO md #1 on 19 Apr,1857, Miss Amanda

Snider of Oregon md.#2 on 25 March 1873, Miss Josephine Snook

Children by Josephine :

1.) Emma Leabo md Mr. ? Letson (Eugene, Oregon) 2.) Benjamine

(ben) Leabo md

Ben lived Oregon City, Oregon & he died 25 March 1873 in Oregon City.

c.) Hannah Margaret Leabo b. 17 July 1841 in Atchison Co., Missouri, before

the family trip to Oregon was completed.

Hannah md. 13 Nov. 1858 to Charles F. Phar, of Polk Co.,Oregon.

Hannah Margaret Leabo-Phar, died at age 73, on 31 July 1914, Gilbert, Idaho

and buried now in "Russell Ridge

Cemetery", at Gilbert, Idaho.

d.) John J. Leabo b. 8 April 1843 - d. 1885 OR md. Mary Long b.16 Feb.

1855, married 21 Feb. 1871 at age 16

e.) Isaac J. Leabo b. 5 May 1845 OR md.#1 5 March 1871 to Ruth

McCubbins

L.) Thomas Meritt Leabo, b. 4 April 1862 md. 27 Nov. 1881 to Ella Kundret,

d/o Fred Kundret (born Switzerland) & Mary Ann Dick of Ohio Thomas

died at age 76, on 28 Feb.1938, at Portland,Oregon. His (3) Children are:

1.) Archie Leabo 2.) Perl Leabo 3.) Karl Leabo *4. James

Peelstraw Lewis b. 13 April 1822 KY md. ? *James P Lewis is a witness

on many Oregon deeds.

*5 . Phoebe Lewis b. 20 March 1824 KY md. a Vincent, , Phoebe & he lived in

1849 in Lakeview, Oregon

*6. Sarah Lewis b. 11 April 1826 KY md Felix Garred b. 1824 Benton

Co.,VA

Sarah married on 11 Feb. 1844 ,Platte Co.,MO, before the trip to Oregon by

her Lewis family.& she and Felix arrived later on 21 Sept 1853 in the

precious Williamette Valley of "The Territory of Oregon". (*was not a
State )

*7. Margaret Lewis b. 18 March 1828 KY md 1/2 cous., Matthais Lewis

b.1829 KY (cousin) s/o Joseph Lewis 1784 NC

Margaret & Matthais married on 10 April 1844, in Platte Co., Missouri 6
years

before trip to Oregon by her parents.

*8. Elizabeth Lewis b. 2 Jan.1830 KY md Tarlton Taylor , married in April

1848, at Putnam Co., Missouri

Tarlton arrived in Oregon in 1851 before Dec 1852 to obtain good land
vacated

by "Oliver Scott" a early pioneer.

*9. Susannah Lewis b. 16 July 1832 KY md Thomas Starns *10. Jesse Bowling

Lewis b. 5 Sept.1834 KY md Sarah E.Bounds, on 27 July 1856, in "the

Oregon Territory".

*11. Nancy D. Lewis b. 2 July 1836 KY-- d. 1872 md a Mr. Henderson

Nancy died at age 36, early in life.

*12. Martin Lewis b. 20 March 1838 KY md Martin was 13 yrs old

when arrived in Oregon 1851.

*13. Daniel Lewis b. October 1840 KY md Daniel the baby was 11 yrs old

when arrived Oregon 1851.

Burial sites and death records are not available for many of the above

children by family or Official documents of Oregon.
